Go to the START button.

Go to ALL PROGRAMS.

Click on WINDOWS CALENDAR.

You can see here I have a nice
display of the monthly calendar.
You can see I have a list of
CALENDARS in case I have more than one.
I also have TASKS at the
bottom.
In the middle I have the
daily calendar.

I will first place an
appointment on my Calendar at 9:00am.
I will double click the area
next to 9:00am and type in Take kids to Soccer game.
In the right hand pane you
can see under APPOINTMENT INFORMATION that I can change many things including
the START and END time and date.

I wanted to expand the hours
so I clicked on the UP/DOWN arrows next to the END time and it expands the area
on the calendar shown in green.

I can click RECURRENCE and
select from many options if this is something I do often.
I can select WEEKLY from the
list next to RECURRENCE and it will automatically add it to the calendar for
9:00am on every week forward.
This is a great tool if you
want to set this up for keeping track of days you pay certain bills.
An extra plus would be to
select the REMINDER drop down and set it to notify me a few days before the
bill is do so I keep it fresh in my mind.
You will see once I set
these two options I now have an ALARM CLOCK and a RECURRENCE ARROWS rotating on
the Calendar.

You can see a Reminder
popped up since I had scheduled the kids soccer game.
You can click DISMISS ALL to
stop the Reminder from popping up all the time or you can click SNOOZE.
Don’t worry because whatever
time you set the SNOOZE for it will come back right on time every 5 MINUTES.

You can see I added a
LOCATION and then clicked on the green area in the center and it populates on
my time slot.

I will now create a Calendar
group.
You have to click FILE and
select NEW GROUP from the list.
You can see I have created
MY NEW GROUP under CALENDARS.

![]()
![]()

You can drag a Calendar into
another group by clicking on one group and holding down on the mouse button and
drag
The Calendar over the top of
another Calendar and release the mouse button and it will be placed inside the
Group Calendar.
You can see I renamed the
TEMP’S CALENDAR to PERSONAL and placed it into MY NEW GROUP.
I also clicked on FILE and
selected NEW CALENDAR and then created the WORK Calendar and placed it into MY
NEW GROUP.

You can see I have only
clicked the PERSONAL Calendar and I see my appointment.
I will uncheck the PERSONAL
Calendar and check the WORK Calendar.

![]()

You now see I am on the WORK
Calendar and the appointment I had is gone from the center.
So I can view one at a time
and keep track of my appointments on two Calendars or more if I so desire.
![]()

You can see while I am on my
WORK Calendar I have created a meeting at 11:00am with my Boss.
You can see in the right
pane that I am assured that I am in my WORK Calendar.

![]()

You can see I have now
checked the boxes to show all my Calendars at once.
I now see both Calendars at
once for all my Appointments.

![]()

You can always click on one
of the appointments with your mouse and hold down the mouse button and drag it
to a new location if you desire.
You can also grab the edge
of any Appointment with your mouse at the top or bottom of the colored box and
drag the time area to expand or shrink the time slot.

So now I want to create a
task so I click on NEW TASK.
I have created a task called
FINISH THE WORK.

You have a small box next to
my task.
You check this box once the
task is completed.
By doing this you will
notice in the right pane under TASK INFORMATION the COMPLETED box is checked.
You can see you can set
PRIORITY on the task.

If you want a reminder of
your task then click ON DATE next to REMINDER and you can pick a date.
Up at the top you can pick
different views by clicking the VIEW button which I will do.

I have chosen MONTH from the
drop down from VIEW.
You can choose Day, Work
Week, Week, and Month from the VIEW Drop Down.

I can also click DETAILS
PANE from the VIEW drop down shown here.
This may make it easier for
you to view the Calendar since it makes things look more like a regular wall
Calendar.

We now move on to the SHARE
Calendar option.
I will click the SHARE
option on the tab at the top and select PUBLISH from the list of options.
This will publish my
Calendar to a location that others can access.
![]()

You need to fill in the
CALENDAR NAME with something of your choice.
In the LOCATION TO PUBLISH
CALENDAR box you need to place the Calendar in a place where others will have
access.
You can BROWSE to a network
share or in my case since I have a standalone machine I will just do the demo
by selecting
a local folder on my hard
drive called Public.
One cool feature here is
that I can AUTOMATICALLY PUBLISH CHANGES MADE TO THIS CALENDAR out so everyone
can
see them as they are made by
checking the box.
You can also click the NOTES.
REMINDERS, and TASKS boxes if you so desire and want everyone to see them.
Once you have made all your
choices you will click PUBLISH.

You can see the PUBLISH
CALENDAR will begin the process.
![]()

You can see the Calendar is
now in the PUBLIC folder and has its name of LETS SHARE.ICS.
At this point I can click
ANNOUNCE and I will have the option of sending an e-mail to anyone I feel needs
to be notified that it is available.
![]()

You can see my email client
will open to allow for the Announcement to be sent.
I would just place in the
persons address in the TO: field and once they receive the email they can see
the path to the Calendar is in the Body.

![]()

If I want to stop the
Publishing of my Calendar I go to the SHARE drop down and select STOP
PUBLISHING.
![]()

If I want to access someone
else’s Published Calendar I go to SHARE and select SUBSCRIBE from the list.
You type in the path to the
Calendar as I have done.
Select NEXT.
![]()
![]()

You will see the SUBSCRIBING
is working.

I can see the CALENDAR NAME
and I can set the UPDATE INTERVAL to my desired settings then click FINISH.

![]()
![]()

You can see now that I have
four Calendars in my list.
I have my two Calendars
called PERSONAL and WORK and I can see the other two that I Subscribed to.
I can see the WORK is
Published because it has a small green arrow in the top right corner pointing
up of the Calendar symbol.
I can see the LETS SHARE and
LETS SHARE (2) are Subscribed to because the small green arrows is in the left
top corner pointing down.
