Configure Offline Files On The Server
You will need to go to your
C: drive and find a folder that has been shared.
Right click the folder and
select SHARING AND SECURITY.

You will click the SHARING
tab.
You will click the CACHING
button.

The default is the first option
and is checked on every server and the user has to specify what they want made
available offline.
Of course the second option
will allow the Offline files to be performed automatically and you could click
OPTIMIZED FOR PERFORMANCE
which is a good choice since it caches the offline content.
The 3rd option is
best for security since it only allows the users access to the shares as long
as they are connected to the network.
Choose your option then
click OK.

NOTE: You can protect
Offline File Cache by using encryption. To do this the files must exist on an
NTFS drive.
NOTE: Some types of files
should not be made available offline such as Microsoft Access Databases.
