How 2 Configure Offline Files On The Server

HOME                  BACK

You will need to go to your C: drive and find a folder that has been shared.

Right click the folder and select SHARING AND SECURITY.

You will click the SHARING tab.

You will click the CACHING button.

The default is the first option and is checked on every server and the user has to specify what they want made available offline.

Of course the second option will allow the Offline files to be performed automatically and you could click

OPTIMIZED FOR PERFORMANCE which is a good choice since it caches the offline content.

The 3rd option is best for security since it only allows the users access to the shares as long as they are connected to the network.

Choose your option then click OK.

NOTE: You can protect Offline File Cache by using encryption. To do this the files must exist on an NTFS drive.

NOTE: Some types of files should not be made available offline such as Microsoft Access Databases.

This Ends The Task
